Understanding roles and permissions
RideLogger has five account roles. Choose the narrowest role that lets someone do their job.
The roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Admin / Facility Admin | Everything, including Billing and creating/editing other admins and managers. |
| Manager | Everything staff can do, plus approve/decline trips, and access Settings, Audit Log, and staff/driver account management. Cannot manage billing or create/edit other admins or managers. |
| Staff | View and manage trips and residents. |
| Driver | View, create, and edit trips. Doesn't see the Residents page. |
| Trip-Only | No login at all โ appears only in the "Staff on Trip" picker for scheduling. |
Notes
- An admin or manager who also drives trips doesn't need the Driver role โ check "๐ This person also drives" on their staff record instead. See Also drives.
- Admins can temporarily preview the app as another role without logging out โ see View as (role preview).
- These roles control what you see in the menu; the same rules are enforced on the server, so hiding a menu item isn't the only thing protecting your data.
